Phil X will close the event at 5:00pm - this is something you absolutely do NOT want to miss!

We have just received shipment of a couple of gorgeous Hamer USA Guitars. Drop by our Mississauga location to check out the unbelievable quality and craftsmanship on these beauties - it really has to been seen to be appreciated.

We love Hamer USA Guitars because they don't have a "Custom Shop"...the whole operation is a Custom Shop. Great products at very reasonable prices.

I'm a little teary-eyed as I write this, thinking about the great times we had together. Jamming away after-hours, late into the night, receiving the "thumbs up" of approval from those passing by on their way to MR. SUB. Ploughing through our favorites by Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick and The Who, while ignoring the angry pounding of our neighbors' fists on the walls.

Of course, I'm referring to my great friend, the LANEY TT50 all-tube 50 watt combo. This amp has recently found a new home and will be sadly missed. Oh well, I guess it's time to get acquainted with the Laney LC50 II.

The Guitar World is celebrating it's 6th year anniversary at the end of January!

Thank You! We are incredibly grateful for all the support that we have received from everyone over the years. We couldn't have done it without you!

We had so much fun with our initial "Banned for Charity" fundraiser, we've decided to continue it into the new year with a new song...

This month we're putting a ban on "Sweet Child 'O' Mine" by G'n'R. If you're caught playing it, you'll be "fined" $5. And if we catch you playing the intro using the bridge pickup, then we might be tempted to charge you double! Naturally, we will match all fines incurred by all you Slash-wannabe's.

Last month, we did catch two young rockers in particular who so flagrantly violated the ban on "Enter Sandman". The Guitar World and The Children's Aid Foundation would like to thank them for ignoring the rules...you can view their mugshots here in our gallery of "Serious Offenders who Rock".

Well, after a fair bit of thought, we have decided to put a ban on in-store performances of "Enter Sandman" by Metallica for the month of December.

Anyone who chooses to ignore this ban will be asked to make a $5 donation to The Children's Aid Foundation. The Guitar World will gladly match the funds collected. We will be listening...

Attention to those who may consider purchasing a guitar from one of those retailers that also sell items such as toasters, laundry baskets, rugs, office furniture, DVDs, crayons, big screen TVs, and so on ... We have the best Repair Shop in the GTA - please feel free to bring these guitars to us and we'll do our best to make them playable.

The Guitar World's own Jim - lover of Rock 'n' Roll laden with blistering guitar riffs, screaming solos and sharp pointy hooks now has his own Blog.

Jim plans to give his take on the absolutely essential albums that every guitarist should listen to, study and learn from. For anyone who knows Jim, he loves his guitar based rock - so you know the material he covers will be killer! What started out as a "treasure hunt" for a coveted G&L guitar, somehow turned into discovering The Guitar World website. I could argue that the real treasure was in fact dealing with Jim and his staff at the Mississauga location.

I'm not one to shy away on making purchases online, but buying a guitar I hadn't tried yet and having it shipped was outside of my comfort range. Once I made my online purchase, Jim and I connected later in the day to go over any concerns I expressed. Jim also followed up the next day to give me a great history lesson of the guitar I purchased!
